Mauri Way appointed

Texas Association of REALTORS

(TAR) Ombudsman

Dallas Morning News, Sunday, November 13, 2005

Mauri Way, a top producer with RE/MAX Premier Group at Preston/Beltline has been appointed to the TAR Ombudsman Program. Realtors are held to the highest ethical standards as outlined by National Association of Realtors (NAR) Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice. The TAR Ombudsman Program is designed to resolve complaints by real estate consumers and fellow Realtors. A nominee must be impartial, maintain confidentiality and be extremely knowledgeable of the NAR Code of Ethics and Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) Licensing Laws.

An ombudsman position is one of the most distinguished public service positions a Realtor can hold, and the program resolves about 60 percent of inquiries received. "Im honored my peers recommended me for this important duty. Im not there to make judgments but rather to identify and clear up miscommunication between parties and discuss the options available. My role is like an informal telephone mediator. I listen to the complainant, ascertain the desired outcome, offer to contact the Realtor in question or their broker, and if the complaint is not resolved, I explain how to file a formal complaint," says Ms.Way, who has been a Dallas-area resident since 1987.

Ms. Ways credentials include ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), CNHS (Certified New Home Specialist), CCREC (Consumer Certified Real Estate Consultant), ASP (Accredited Staging Professional). She is a member of the RE/MAX International Hall of Fame and RE/MAX Platinum Club ($9+ million sales per yr), and has been the recipient of numerous other awards. Her dedication to superior customer service has earned her a loyal client base in which 98 percent of her business comes from referrals. Since 1996, Ms. Way has generated more than $50 million in sales.

Broker/owner Don Dahlberg says of Ms. Way, "RE/MAX Premier Group is very proud of Mauris appointment as a TAR Ombudsman. This is typical of her dedication to the real estate profession and most definitely a generous commitment. There is no end in site for Mauris striving for excellence as a top real estate professional as well as her giving back to the profession she loves."

RE/MAX Premier Group has more than 225 agents and closed 3,426 transactions totaling more than $700.4 million in volume in 2004. Contact Ms. Way at www.MauriWay.com or contact RE/MAX Premier at www.HomesForView.com or call Brenda Featherston, VP, at 972-599-3319.

The RE/MAX network in Texas comprises more than 5,335 members affiliated with 244 offices across the state, 57 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Since its inception in 1977, the RE/MAX organization in Texas has experienced 28 consecutive years of growth. For additional information, visit www.remax-texas.com.

Plano Star Courier, Sunday, July 31, 2005

Mauri Way, a top producer with RE/MAX Premier Group at Preston/Beltline has been appointed to the TAR Ombudsman Program. REALTORS are held to the highest ethical standards as outlined by National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice. When a member of the public or even another REALTOR feels they have been treated unfairly by a REALTOR, one of the options they may choose is to file an ethics complaint. Another option may be they just need to talk it out which is the idea behind the TAR Ombudsman Program. The program is designed to help resolve those complaints. Consumers & REALTORS can contact TAR with complaints against members of the association & if the complainant agrees they can speak with an ombudsman.

"Im honored my peers recommended me for this important duty," stated Way. "Im not there to make judgments. My role is to identify & clear up any miscommunication between the parties & discuss the options available to the complainant. Some complaints are simple like a consumer not understanding an aspect of the transaction while others entail further investigation. My role is like an informal telephone mediator," explains Way. "I listen to the complainant, ascertain the desired outcome, offer to contact the REALTOR being complained about or that REALTORs broker & if not resolved explain how to file a formal complaint. Ultimately the complainant drives the process," added Way. Currently about 12 TAR members volunteer their time for this duty. Not every complainant can be helped with the program but TAR reports their Ombudsman Program resolves about 60% of the calls.

"Broker/Owner Don Dahlberg said RE/MAX Premier Group is very proud of Mauris appointment as a TAR Ombudsman. This is typical of her dedication to the Real Estate profession and most definitely a generous commitment. There is no end in site for Mauris striving for greater excellence as a top Real Estate professional as well as her giving back to the profession she loves."

An ombudsman must show leadership, patience, good listener, open minded, impartial, active experienced REALTOR, on top of their business, exude confidentiality & informed regarding NAR Code of Ethics & TREC Licensing Laws. "I think it is great Mauri has committed to get involved with TAR & she is more than qualified for this duty. The program shows the public & REALTOR members that TAR is concerned about complaints & their resolution," stated Bill Sabino, Broker/Manager.

Mauris commitment to superior service, organizational skills & attention detail make her perfectly suited to real estate. She has lived in the Dallas area since 1987 & has built a loyal client base in which 98% of her business comes from personal referrals & repeat clients. She devotes herself whole-heartedly to meet their needs which is why she often ends up helping all the relatives, friends & co-workers buy or sell a home too. Shes also been known to dog sit for her clients in a pinch. Since 1996, Mauri has generated over $50 million in personal sales.

RE/MAX Premier Group has over 225 agents & in 2004 closed 3,426 transactions totaling over $700.4 million in volume. RE/MAX Premier is ranked #1 in Dallas & is known for its outstanding agents, education, training, support, management, relocation network & state of the art technology which adds up to outstanding results for buyers & sellers.

Mauris credentials include ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), CNHS (Certified New Home Specialist), CCREC (Consumer Certified Real Estate Consultant), ASP (Accredited Staging Professional), RE/MAX International Hall of Fame, RE/MAX Platinum Club ($9+ million sales per yr), RE/MAX 100% Club ($4+ million sales per yr), GDAR Leadership alumni, TAR Ombudsman, CCAR Professional Standards & Ethics Committee, Education committees, consistently in Top 10, CEO Network Partners, plus 19 yrs banking background.

Mauris passion is animals & donates a portion of her proceeds from each transaction to medical research & welfare of animals. She generously volunteers personal time to various animal organizations & enjoys playing sports, movies, photography, music, reading & traveling with her SPCA dog "Charlie."
